John Wing’s talk will take you from the time the New Road Maltings site was a farmyard, through its 120 years history as a malting, to its use as a warehouse, pub and social club and transformation into the Ware Arts Centre. John will also explain how the threat from the 1960’s Inner Relief Road scheme to the Southern Malting’s very existence paradoxically preserved it from demolition.
