The museum’s collections include the archaeology, geology, social and industrial history of the town and surrounding area. Our mission is to encourage everyone who visits, lives or works in Ware to be inspired by its past, present and future. Through our displays, exhibitions and activities we enable people to access and share the collections and heritage of Ware and the surrounding area for inspiration, learning and enjoyment.

How we are supported

Ware Museum is an independent, accredited museum which is free to visit. We rely on donations and income from our shop and activities to help us care for our collections and keep the museum open. Please make a donation if you can, either online or in person when you visit the museum.

Who we are

Ware Museum is led by a board of ten local Trustees, who want to ensure that the rich history which has shaped this special town is shared with everyone. The Trustees are supported by a Museum Manager as well as a team of volunteers who carry out vital roles such as stewarding and caring for the collections.
