Discover the story of Ware Museum as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

This new temporary exhibition explores the Museum’s humble beginnings in 1986, from its first objects and early displays to the people, discoveries and community effort that helped it grow. The exhibition looks back at the Museum’s first 20 years, sharing memories from those involved in its creation and development.

Visitors can learn about the archaeological digs that formed the foundation of the collection, explore some of the Museum’s earliest objects and displays, and see favourite items chosen by current volunteers.

Ware Museum at 40: Stories of People and Place is the first of two anniversary exhibitions. A second exhibition, opening in late September, will continue the story by exploring the Museum’s next 20 years.
