Schools

Schools are welcome to visit the museum to learn about the town’s history. Loan boxes for primary schools are also available as a standalone activity or to enhance your visit to the museum.

 

 

Workshops

We offer 1-2 hour sessions for KS 1 and 2 on these subjects:

  • Romans in Ware (history/local study)
  • Getting around Ware: Roads, rivers and railways (history/geography/local study)

We also offer a full day session on World War II for KS 1 and 2; this includes activities such as making gas mask boxes, learning about wartime propaganda and discovering the experience of being an evacuee.

Charges per pupil:

  • 1-2 hour session £3
  • Full day session £7

Loan boxes 

Designed to support KS 1 and 2 local study topics are available on the following themes:

  • Romans
  • Tudor Rich and Poor
  • Victorian childhood

Charge: £30 per half term
