The Ukulele: A Brief History

Join Lloyd as he takes you on a whistle-stop tour of the ukulele’s varied history, with a few songs interspersed on the way. See some of history’s important ukuleles, some weird and wacky varieties, and the uke that we know today.
Lloyd Crowley is a local ukulele performer, teacher and hoarder since 2009. Boasting a collection of over 70 ukuleles, his extensive knowledge of the history and performance of the instrument will come to life in an exciting and engaging demonstration.
Tickets £6, includes a glass of mulled wine or soft drink and a mince pie
Starting from Ware Museum, this guided tour led by one of our expert volunteers explores the story of the town’s development and residents through the High Street and other significant locations.
The tour lasts around 90 minutes and walking will be at a gentle pace. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
Maximum of 15 participants per walk. Suitable for age 12 and over.
Tours usually take place on the first Sunday of the month from May – September.
